SCBA member contacts President Kapil Sibal, urging him to keep the election promise of providing a group insurance policy for members and their families.
A member of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), Reepak Kansal, has written to Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal, the SCBA President, urging the quick rollout of a group insurance policy for SCBA members and their families. This request refers to Sibal’s promise during his election campaign to create a health insurance plan that would support the well-being of members. In the letter dated November 12, Kansal stated, “As a committed member of the SCBA, I want to remind you of the promise to provide a comprehensive group insurance policy for our members and their families. This initiative is crucial as it will ensure that we are protected and have access to necessary health services when needed.”
Kansal had previously sent a similar letter to Sibal in October, reiterating the same request. He highlighted the urgent need for medical coverage, noting that many members are looking forward to this policy for their healthcare needs. He urged Sibal to speed up the fulfillment of this commitment, saying that it would be a significant advancement for member welfare. Kansal also expressed hope that, with Sibal’s leadership, this important benefit would soon be accessible to all SCBA members and their families.
Many SCBA members are eager for this policy to ensure their medical security, and its implementation will greatly benefit our members. I kindly ask you to take the necessary actions to make this promise a reality as soon as possible. I am hopeful that, with your leadership, this important benefit will soon be accessible to everyone, the letter states. Recently, SCBA members expressed concerns about Sibal’s perceived lack of support for their common interests. Senior Advocate Aggarwala criticized Sibal for not backing a recent resolution that called for a boycott of the Supreme Court Museum’s inauguration, scheduled for November 7, 2024.
